Trailer: B-

Review: For the next 30 years, every film Jafar Panahi makes will end up with trailers discussing the same thing: that he’s under house arrest and forbidden from making movies for that long. Yes, he’s making movies. No, he’s not being hauled off to prison. By now, anyone who knows who Panahi already knows. Those who don’t probably don’t care. As for the trailer itself, it tries to paint this as a strange little confection that will challenge your concept of filmmaking. Every film released wants you to believe that and this trailer doesn’t do much of a job convincing us that it’s true for this film.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
