Review: Reminding me some of the overly simplistic title for The Last Mimzy, there’s a bit more detail and concept behind it, but it remains little more than a second rate kids movie poster.

Review: The concept is exceptional, but even with Oscar nominee Saoirse Ronan in the cast, this looks like yet another children’s film that will take the protagonists on grand adventures, through dangerous trials and ultimately to victory. It’s a tired ride, but perhaps this one will provide something a little more fun.

Oscar Prospects:

Depending on the film’s success with audiences and critics, visual effects or art direction consideration could be possible, but I don’t think the film will survive the Oscar balloting season.

Designed with younger children in mind, the film lacks a strong narrative backbone and fails to provide adequate emotional gratification.
