Review: There’s something sweet and simple about this design, but the bounteous blank space and excessive reading required don’t make for a particularly exciting work.

Review: Slow moving and methodical, there’s are plenty of compelling visuals on display, which will more than appease fans of specialty cinema. However, it doesn’t quite have the spark to break out beyond the art house.

Oscar Prospects:

Luca Guadagnino’s gay drama was a hit on the festival circuit and built overwhelming buzz. The film goes into Oscar season with the kind of hype that doesn’t get easily offset. Reminiscent of Moonlight‘s critical acclaim, Call Me By Your Name is sure to be a strong player at this year’s Oscars.
