Synopsis:
From IMDb: “Broadway Idiot follows Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong from a punk rock concert at Madison Square Garden to the opening of his musical American Idiot on Broadway – only ten blocks away, but worlds apart. From behind the curtain share in the crazy journey of turning the mega-hit album into a punk rock musical – and ultimately see how the world of theater transformed Billie Joe.”

Review: A garish black-and-white affair with that purportedly cool indie-red stuck in. That this poster visually ignores (I don’t count the written word as visual even though it’s reference at the top of the poster) the foundation of the documentary (the stage musical), it loses a lot of relevance in trying to pull in Green Day fans at the expense of the production.

Review: If you’re at all interested in documentaries about Broadway productions, this trailer is likely to appeal to you immediately. If you aren’t, but are a Green Day fan, it might give you a slight pang of interest. If you’re anyone else, you’ll probably shrug and move on.
Oscar Prospects:
None.
