Poster Rating: B

Review: While the poster isn’t terribly creative nor terribly evocative, it is nonetheless pleasing to the eyes. Blending tans, greens and whites effectively, the poster has a simple elegance that features images of the cast, including a difficult-to-recognize Emma Thompson.

Trailer Rating: B+

Review: There’s something vaguely intriguing about this period drama that gives the audience the idea that this could be provocative, especially considering the time period in which it’s set. If the movie is as interesting as the trailer, it could indeed be a mid-summer surprise.

Oscar Prospects:

A mid-year release is not conducive to an Oscar campaign, but if critics love it, then look for Emma Thompson to be the leading contender for a nomination in the Supporting Actress category. The standard Art Direction and Costume Design nominations may come even if the film isn’t a big Oscar contender.
