(August 2, 2015) Original
Release Date:
July 10, 2015
Synopsis:
From IMDb: “A devoted husband in a marriage of convenience is forced to confront his secret life.”
Poster Rating: D+
Review: Overly simplified and designed solely to tempt fans of the late Robin Williams into the theater without providing any substance or grit that might more adequately appeal to them.
Trailer Rating: C+
Review: We often complain about films being rather paint-by-numbers driven, but trailers can accomplish the same thing and color their films into the same corner without intending to. I’m sure there are some interesting elements involved in this film, but the trailer feels so pushy that it makes the whole affair seem worthless.
Oscar Prospects:
There will be a small, but vocal minority pushing for a posthumous Oscar nomination for Robin Williams. However, if the film sat for so long without a release, it’s probably not as good as it probably is thought to be.
