Review: (#1, B+) It’s a simple design and when you go for something simple, make sure it has an elegance and charm to it that draws your attention away from the vast empty background. It ties nicely into images in the trailer, so it seems to be a good fit for the film.

Review: (#1, B+) There’s something about Steve McQueen’s filmmaking that makes every shot electrically gorgeous. This trailer is filled with such shots making every moment feel like one I want to immediately rush out to see. The problem is that the trailer takes so long to get into that magic that it almost feels like one person made the first half, someone else made the rest and they just pushed it together without forethought.
Oscar Prospects:
This is the last major Oscar contender to be screened this year, so we’ll see how it holds up with critics without a festival release.
