Review: (#1, C+) It may be partly a scene from the film but it has some meritorious elements, namely the Polaroid of a frightened main character. That adds some tension to a design that is perhaps a bit too monochromatic in places.
(#2, C-) Taking the “photo” out of the first design and making it its own is a poor choice. The same failings of the prior design manifest here but with less creative direction.
Trailer Rating: B- / B

Review: (#1, B-) In a week with two trailers for Shyamalan films (pรจre and fille), it’s interesting that this trailer is better than one and almost better than the other. This feels like a cross between Glass Onion and Midsommar, which is a surprisingly appealing blend. The trailer doesn’t quite reach a pinnacle that would make this a must-see but it creates just enough intrigue to build possibilities in the viewer’s mind.
(#2, B) There isn’t much more to this film than previously presented in the first trailer but there appears to be more information on display at least in terms of its horror-centric focus and that makes it look a lot better than expected. That Channing Tatum could look this menacing adds a certain extra layer of intrigue to the film.
Oscar Prospects:
None.
