Review: (#1) It’s a relatively unique design that cuts the images up into smaller sections, which lightly reflects the character spaces on the screen of a BlackBerry, though is really meant to act like the segments of the wall you break in the 1970s video game Breakout. There’s even a platform at the bottom that asserts that. Both are interesting ways of selling the film, though perhaps won’t make sense to most. (#2) The empty background and the drawn elements on the design don’t add much to the effort and the iPhone isn’t used effectively enough. It’s a satisfactory, but not impressive effort.

Review: Biopics about tech advances in the 1980s, 1990s, and early 2000s seem to be all the rage right now, but this subject doesn’t hold a lot of promise. The kind of people who used BlackBerries aren’t likely to be drawn to a film like this anyway, so there aren’t many options for sales. That’s especially true when the material looks a bit dry and limited on humor.
Oscar Prospects:
None.
