Review: Much of the time, an empty background is a sign of laziness. In this case, it’s used to accentuate the sterility of the situation as well as the simplicity of the symbolism of these two figures learning to grow inside of a confined space. It works, but won’t be easy to understand to those not familiar with the concept of the film.

Review: (#1) What this film wants to do or accomplish isn’t convincingly conveyed in the trailer. It’s supposed to be bold and unusual, but nothing seen in it really says that other than critic responses to seeing it. That won’t help it win viewers.

(#2) Delivering more of the comic moments that audiences expect in a project like this, the film does well giving us personalities for each of the characters and making them inviting ones. That it barely hits on the film’s theme creates a measure of intriguing as well, though the comedy is a bit too sparse and not as absurd as you would expect something like this to be. That’s both good and miseadling.
