Synopsis:

Review: (#1 & #2) The first two posted designs are the definition of creativity. Using symbolism to show the film’s themes without revealing too much and offending anyone. The first poster is a little less creative than the second wherein it uses the black-red color scheme, which has been tremendously overdone in recent years. The second design uses a pleasing set of colors and has more interesting visual elements that require thorough inspection.
(#3 & #4) The third design is a lot less original than the first pair and seems targeted at those who cannot figure out the meaning of the first two. It’s not as mentally insulting as the fourth design, though. That fourth design tells us almost nothing about the film except that three men have apparently kidnapped a fourth, perhaps for his birthday, but anyone looking at their poses should doubt that. That’s it, nothing more.

Review: To match the critical plaudits displayed in the trailer, there has to be something more to this film than what’s on display. Were it not for those notices, this would look like little more than a torture porn version of Prisoners and at this juncture, I doubt it would be much more interesting. Perhaps the director went farther than Prisoners, I don’t know the trailer doesn’t let us know that, nor does it really make us want to know.
Oscar Prospects:
None.
