Posters (Due to age, may no longer be available)

Poster Rating: C

Review: The poster makes this film look like more like Oh, God than a drama. There are no comic touches to the trailer, which does not mean there won’t be in the film itself. However, the poster is not a good companion piece to the trailer. If the film is as dramatic as the trailer suggests, the poster will be one of the worst tie-ins of the year.

Trailer Rating: B-

Review: It’s hard to decipher the point of the film, which makes it both an effective and ineffective preview. The trailer’s poorly put together making this feel like a poor-man’s art film. With all the Oscar-nominated and winning talent aboard, you would expect quite a bit more and this may be an intriguing look at how siblings in dead-end professions can live vicariously through others but who knows if that’s really the point in this latest Sidney Lumet pic.

Oscar Prospects:

From the trailer alone, I wouldn’t say this would be a big Oscar contender. It’s too minor for an art film. However strong critical support and box office could jettison it into contention but likely only in the writing and acting fields.

Release Date:

October 26, 2007

Synopsis:

The film is a relative disappointment. It’s far-fetched and littered with overzealous performances. Sidney Lumet’s past work is significantly superior and his attempts to remain relevant won’t succeed with a relative mess like this.
