Review: (#1) This attempt to conjure memories of films long gone by may seem like the cool Retro thing to do, but this isn’t as interesting a poster concept as the creator likely thought.
(#2) When designing posters, it’s a challenge to make something that doesn’t look like a carbon copy of other designs. So, when focusing on visual distinctiveness, sometimes a strong color palette is all that’s needed. That’s what we have here. (#3) The cast reflection element is decently well done, but the overall design is unnecessarily simplistic. (#4) Unlike design #2, this one feels a bit more traditional in terms of design, but again the color selection makes it pop, which makes it work.
(#5-#6) Here we have to designs that follow a trend rather than start one and while they are generally interesting, the overall style isn’t that exciting. (#7) What a horrendous use of color. After all that’s come before, this bulky design does not work. (#8-#14) With modestly unique poses and looks, the backdrop helps set each character poster apart with seemingly symbolic representations of the characters along with a unique tagline for each that gives the viewer a minuscule glimpse into the character’s mind.
Trailer Rating: B / C

Review: (#1) The drama that takes up the majority of the trailer isn’t that compelling, but there are some killer shots on display and sequences that play out, so it could be worth the price of admission.
(#2) What made the first trailer as exciting as it was was the thrill of the chase, the establishment of the plot, however ham-fisted it was setup, and the general stylishness of it. This trailer throws out must of that style and most of the plot and leaves it mostly a muddled mess.
Oscar Prospects:
Edgar Wright isn’t an Oscar player and this film, which looking quite stylish, isn’t likely to make much headway with Oscar voters. Sound Editing or Sound Mixing might be possibilities, but likely remote ones.
