Review: (#1) As an initial teaser poster, it works somewhat well, though the black-and-white motif seems to be becoming a trend. That they used atomic blue rather than red as a visual counterbalance to the grayscale image helps differentiate it from others.
(#2) As bad as a blank white poster background is, an empty black one is just as bad. And here, there’s a lot of reading for the viewer to do. While there’s some butt-kicking action on it, that might not be enough to entice a passer-by to stop and read it. (#3) It’s supposed to look like our protagonist is holding the gun, but it’s too obviously cropped in. That’s not why the design is bad, at least it isn’t the only reason not good. (#4) A colorful, yet monochromatic design that is surprisingly effective, visually raw, and distinctive.
Trailer Rating: B+ / B+

Review: (#1) Plenty of butt-kicking fun is certainly to draw the target audience out of the woodworks and into the theater. That we get plenty of information about the premise will help those who aren’t immediately drawn to the action to get interested.
(#2) Another action-heavy, thrilling trailer that adds a few more details, but keeps the same stylistic approach to the material. It still generates excitement.
Oscar Prospects:
None.
