Review: (#1) A fascinating trailer with layers that aren’t always easy to peel back. Strangely, Adam Driver’s narration feels a bit flat while the imagery is undoubtedly gorgeous.
(#2) Adding in the music finally tells the audience that there’s a heavy musical influence on the film, though selling it as a musical isn’t something the designer seemed willing to acknowledge.
Oscar Prospects:
Great acting reviews have been following Adam Driver out of Cannes, so even if the film isn’t the Academy’s tastes, Driver might still make it close to a nomination even if not being outright nominated.
