Review: A stirring image of Robert Reford at sea in a storm. It’s a perfect set up for the entire film even if it is more exciting than anything in the trailer looks.

Review: Giving Robert Redford a venue to pull out all of his acting credentials and lay down the law is always a reason to celebrate. And with J.C. Chandor’s acclaim, the concept should enable Redford to stretch. The trailer isn’t exactly fresh, but it has enough of a presence to give the impression that it could end up being quite good.
Oscar Prospects:
J.C. Chandor hit it big with his debut feature Margin Call, which will result in some buzz for this film, but the calendar is chock full of contenders and while Robert Redford could be in it for a career nomination, the film needs to be superb and a bigger contender elsewhere. Just ask Richard Gere how the campaign for Arbitrage went even with the strong support from critics.
