Review: (#1) It’s a simple enough design to convey the figure’s grumpiness, as the tagline promotes, but that’s about as striking as the design gets.

(#2) This design sets the neighborhood and the grumpiness of Hanks’ character, but it doesn’t really say much else.

Trailer Rating: C+

Review: This is the kind of movie that Tom Hanks can sell well and indeed it moves along through varying situations that test his character’s stoic certainty. That might help convey the film’s purpose to fans of the actor, though it also provides far too much information about the plot and without giving the viewer something exciting to dig into, it fails a basic test of marketing efforts.

Oscar Prospects:

The film really hasn’t generated any buzz and considering the one aspect of the original film that earned Oscar attention isn’t actively involved here (makeup), it’s probably a lost cause.
