Release Date:

Synopsis:

From IMDb: “Two talented landscape artists become romantically entangled while building a garden in King Louis XIV’s palace at Versailles.”

Poster: C / C- / C+ (3)

Review: (#1) Too much airbrushing and photoshopping to look natural, which is a pity when this is a film about building a garden. That said, the color scheme is warm and inviting. (#2) The two-panel feel isn’t a favorite, but it gives us a sense of who’s in the picture beyond the two leads. (#3-#4) Although the upper images are too similar, the distinction of the lower image, exemplifying the peronal goals of the individual at the top, is the best way to design a character poster.

Trailer: B+

Review: With a cast like this, you can’t help but be enamored by the potential of the film. The story concept has enough possible depth to make it seem like a better film than it will likely have any right of being.

Oscar Prospects:

While the film didn’t do well with critics, it could still be one of those opulent period pieces that the Academy loves to honor. Therefore, it could be a Best Production Design and Best Costume Design nominee.
