Synopsis:
From IMDb: “Jack is a children’s author turned crime novelist whose detailed research into the lives of Victorian serial killers has turned him into a paranoid wreck, persecuted by the irrational fear of being murdered. When Jack is thrown a life-line by his long-suffering agent and a mysterious Hollywood executive takes a sudden and inexplicable interest in his script, what should be his big break rapidly turns into his big breakdown, as Jack is forced to confront his worst demons; among them his love life, his laundry and the origin of all fear.”

Review: This design may quickly establish that the film’s a comedy, but it’s so over-the-top that it’s overbearing. Simon Pegg is not a subtle comedian, so this should come as little surprise, but you would think with the high concept of the film, a more interesting poster design could have been thought up.

Review: A modestly interesting concept that goes out of its way to be outlandish and “quirky” and does so in a way that’s off-putting. It’s no surprise the film is going straight to iTunes with a perfunctory theatrical release. This doesn’t look like the kind of Britcom that would draw mass audiences to the theater.
Oscar Prospects:
None.
