Review: Fans of the original will be enticed, but the simplistic and inexpressive nature of the design doesn’t speak to the unfamiliar.

Review: (#1) For a teaser, it does quite well. Fans of A Christmas Story might be utterly thrilled for this trailer, but the problem is that a lot of younger audiences and those who haven’t seen the original will find nothing of merit in this teaser.
(#2) Now that we’ve seen more of what this film is trying to be, we can’t help but see strains of nearly every other Christmas movie ever made. Sure, there are attempts to encourage viewership from fans of the original, but the foundation of the film feels a bit cheap and uninspired, which might drive almost everyone else away.
Oscar Prospects:
None.
