Review: (#1) The individual items at the top of the poster set the scene, but that’s almost a dodge. The design is a bit bland in the details, but it should work well enough for the target indie audiences.

Trailer Rating: C+ / B

Review: (#1) With the potential for strong performances, this trailer goes to great lengths to minimize them. While it’s important to get the setting and general dynamics of what’s going on, failing to highlight either Annette Bening or Elle Fanning is a mistake as they may well be the key draws to the film.

(#2) A coming of age story that reflects a mother’s struggle to raise a strong child without giving up herself. This trailer does a better job showcasing Annette Bening’s performance, but it gets lost in itself at times with how clever it’s trying to be.

Oscar Prospects:

The film has a prime release date and key players including Elle Fanning and Annette Bening. This could be a strong player, at least in terms of acting, but the trailer isn’t great, which might not bode well.
