Review: (#1) The concept of J. Paul Getty’s massive head (read: ego) casting a long shadow onto those who fight for something (not referenced or obvious from the poster) is noble symbolism, but the rest of the design from the colors to the structure feel generic and bland.
(#2) This design highlights the stars of the film, but does little to highlight the premise behind it. That isn’t likely to sell the film nearly as well as they would like. (#3) This design does a much better job tying into the film with a rather symbolic stripe, which is excellent. Were the backdrop not so bland, it might be something grand. (#4-#7) These character posters are not only unnecessary, but bulky and unappealing.
Trailer Rating: B- / B

Review: (#1) As the trailer begins, there’s a certain tension revolving around the abducted grandson, but as the trailer plays on, the film begins to feel more like a poorly-scripted attack on the upper class, especially one of the world’s richest men in history, that it doesn’t quite have the urgency it should. That’s saying a lot considering the current American political climate.
(#2) Having replaced Kevin Spacey with Christopher Plummer, this trailer also upends the style of the first trailer, turning it from a largely simplistic drama into a drama that feels pulsing and tense. The soundscape is distracting, but there’s little question that this will prove more intriguing than the first trailer did.
Oscar Prospects:
None.
