Review: (#1) The poster combination is merely a scene from the film, but it’s one that looks like something that might have featured prominent in a Stanley Kubrick film. Since the movie is targeted at cineastes and not really at mass audiences, the construction works.
(#2) While the symbolism on display here is interesting, the surrounding imagery isn’t and that’s a problem when trying to sell a movie like this.
Trailer Rating: C+

Review: There’s something simmering underneath the film’s surface, but the trailer doesn’t sufficiently set all of that up. It has a modestly creepy vibe, but that may not be enough to engage the audience.
Oscar Prospects:
Yorgos Lanthimos is an eclectic filmmaker, but he broke through the Oscar glass ceiling with his screenplay for The Lobster, which was quite an unusual. This is likely to be similar, though it will need critics to firmly embrace it.
