Review: (#1) This is the way you use a blank white background effectively. It’s a stirring design that is perhaps a little bit too simple. (#2) Here you have the wrong way to do a blank white background, but it works thematically.
(#3) Approaching a crime scene. Done. Overplayed. Interesting in a minimal way. (#4) The snowman is a nice touch but the result is still fairly inconsequential. (#5) The hint of a victim might titillate some viewers, but will it be enough to draw a large audience? Doubtful.
Trailer Rating: B+

Review: Tomas Alfredson’s new film looks like a tight, gripping serial killer mystery of the kind not frequently made these days. That intensity might help sell tickets.
Oscar Prospects:
Depending on general reception, it could be an Oscar contender in several categories.
