Review: (#1) A static, simplistic design with bold, unappealing lettering. The poster says almost nothing about the film’s content either literally or figuratively.
(#2) Romance on the Savannah. It’s a pretty setting, but considering what the film’s about, it’s just a bait-and-switch design. (#3) Notice how the two images that feature an incapacitated Andrew Garfield are small enough to almost be missed. Like the prior design, this is almost a distraction from the film’s actual themes and plot.
Trailer Rating: C+ / B

Review: (#1) A formulaic, predictable trailer that exemplifies how to make a generic trailer for people with no concept of inventiveness or originality. It will work, though I wish it wouldn’t.
(#2) Tossing in a bit more drama to the trailer makes for a more pleasing trailer experience, but one which may have limited appeal beyond those wanting to see solid performances.
Oscar Prospects:
There might be a push to get Andrew Garfield his second nomination and his first win, but he’ll have a ton of opposition this time and hardly the trajectory that Eddie Redmayne had in his Oscar win for a similar, though extremely different, disabled role.
