Synopsis:

From IMDb: “The honorable citizen Nils ploughs snow in the wild winter mountains of Norway, when his son is mistakenly murdered, Nils takes action, which ignites a war between the vegan gangster “the Count” and the Serbian mafia boss Papa.”

Review: (#1) A departure from modern poster design in certain ways. The problem is that the bland white background, while appropriate, creates too much blank space on the design. (#2) It takes a moment to see the machine artistically framed in the poster, which gives it a mysterious appeal. That doesn’t downplay its unnecessary simplicity, though. (#3) This orange design takes significantly less time to come into focus, but is no less interesting as a result. (#4) This is a more commonplace and, as a result, boring design. There’s not much symbolism. There’s not much artistic expression. It’s just banal and that’s not good.

Review: The trailer is cut together unimpressively, but the content is quite compelling. The studio has input two quotes to the film’s plaudits. The third highlights Coens and Tarantino and that’s clear from its Kill Bill and Fargo influences. The fourth references Fargo specifically as well as Taken, which might not be the most influencing reference. Either way, the trailer looks dark in an interesting way and that’s all it needs to become an indie success.
