Review: The color scheme is bothersome, but the imagery is compelling, simplistically detailed, and ultimately fascinating.

Review: The trailer suggests a film that has a lot of boilerplate incidents that get stuffed into every film about Nazi Germany. Whether the film itself is as prototypical remains to be seen, but the trailer isn’t helping it avoid that appearance.

Oscar Prospects:

Early screenings have been heavily talked about. If the right circumstances arrive, it could be a player; however, my gut tells me that the August release will ultimately result in the film disappearing from consciousness too soon to be effective.
