Review: (#1) It was a valiant attempt to create a modern poster reliant on modern technology, but without any inherent inventiveness. (#2) This is a visually pleasing design that suffers for having a stark white background with no additional detail.

(#3) A derivation of design #2, this time with a more detailed and visually appealing background. (#4) A legendary house. A sorta scary bloke. A poster design aesthetic that was being so overused that it had briefly disappeared. It’s back, though, disappointingly. (#5) Maybe once you’ve seen the film, the symbolism will become obvious. Before then, it looks a bit cheap.

Trailer Rating: C

Review: What made the original film a success was something that this film doesn’t seem to understand, at least according to its trailer. The film only looks modestly creepy, has some cheap-looking effects and doesn’t promise anything in the way of competent acting.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
