BeastsofNoNationNetflix has a single horse in this race and it’s going to push hard.

Beasts of No Nation

Stars: Abraham Attah, Idris Elba
Director: Cary Joji Fukunaga
Premise: From IMDb: “A drama based on the experiences of Agu, a child soldier fighting in the civil war of an unnamed African country.”
Oscar Chances: Uncertain: Netflix, while huge on the TV front, is just now digging into big screen distribution. Their day-and-date releases aren’t making studios very happy, not that they wasn’t already a rancorous relationship between them. I suspect that the film will be ultimately ignored in spite of its acclaim. I could be surprised, though.
