The Orchard has sent out the Sundance award winning Cartel Land for consideration.
Cartel Land
Director: Matthew Heineman
Premise: From IMDb: “A physician in Michoacรกn, Mexico leads a citizen uprising against the drug cartel that has wreaked havoc on the region for years. Across the U.S. border, a veteran heads a paramilitary group working to prevent Mexico’s drug wars from entering U.S. territory.”
Oscar Chances: Uncertain: Sundance gave the film prizes for cinematography and directing. That certainly gives it a boost, but will it be enough?

91% (81 critics; as of 11/19/15)
