Review: There’s not enough attention paid to the idea that these are five different Edgar Allan Poe tales. The animation doesn’t look bad, but without that broadly familiar name recognition, the design isn’t going to be as successful as the producers desire.

Review: As a fan of Poe’s tales, this kind of concept works very well on me. However, those not familiar with his work or who aren’t interested in an animated film might not get that excited about it. What frustrates me on a personal level is that the seemingly worst animation depicted in the trailer happens to go with the Poe story I love most, which is a tad disappointing. It might still be a good production.
