Review: The bifurcated design only separates the news anchor and the producer, both physically and thematically, which is probably not the message the producers want to give. If you want to highlight the presence of Cate Blanchett and Robert Redford, there are better ways to go about it.

Review: Pacing, tension and intrigue are strongly felt in this trailer that begs the audience to take into consideration just what kind of situation these characters were thrust into. Unless you’re already a partisan, the trailer should give you enough interest in the subject to give it a try.
Oscar Prospects:
There are two major films this year about prominent journalists unraveling compelling cases and facing scrutiny for them. The other film, Spotlight seems to be receiving far stronger support than this film. Still, both could be competitors. Unfortunately, Cate Blanchett has Carol as her Oscar vehicle, Robert Redford could pull off a nomination for his Dan Rather impersonation and one of the supporting performers could nab a nomination, but I suspect it may be overshadowed.
