Review: (#1) Taking its cues from many other adventure-themed film posters of the past, this works on the same level as those, compelling the viewer to rest a moment to explore the various details in the design, which might subsequently entice the viewer to see the film.

(#2-#4) For a film that seems to be awfully pedestrian in its elements and is so reminiscent of Jumanji, the creators are going all out for fascinating, detailed and well balanced poster designs. I give bonus points to the fourth poster for doing something a little different in terms of poster design content, not just from the others in its series, but from others in its genre.

Review: (#1) What appears to be a mash-up of Night at the Museum and Jumanji, this ham-fisted trailer does everything it can to appeal to the lowest common denominator while those of us who grew up on Goosebumps and shows like Are You Afraid of the Dark end up sorely disappointed.

(#2) There isn’t a whole lot of difference between the first trailer and the second. Some of the comedy is removed, but so is some of the action. This seems to be a tad trimmed down, which doesn’t alleviate many of the problems the first trailer brought up.

Oscar Prospects:

Perhaps a contender for a Best Visual Effects nomination, but I doubt it.
