Synopsis:
From IMDb: “A group of native Liberian missionaries make a desperate cross-country trip through their war torn country to save one of their own.”
Poster: B- / C+
Review: (#1) What makes this first design so interesting is that it’s a stark departure from a lot of poster designs we see these days. It features action elements, but with a level of subtlety action films don’t understand. There’s also a bit of urgency and dark realism. (#2) This one doesn’t capture the same level of creative energy as the first one, but it establishes the film’s urgency.
Trailer: C+
Review: When you tackle a subject of immense importance, there’s a degree of urgency that must be established to make the audience realize this is something they need to see. Unfortunately, this trailer never picks up a degree of necessity and ends up as a film that could be ignored and not missed.
Oscar Prospects:
None.
