From IMDb: “When aliens misinterpret video feeds of classic arcade games as a declaration of war, they attack the Earth in the form of the video games.”

Review: (#1-#5) Conjuring images of the many disaster film designs that we’ve seen in the last few decades, the video game implications here are certainly going to trigger waves of nostalgia in the target audience, which may help sell the film beyond the trailer.
(#6-#8) A hint of all the video game superstars gives these relatively similar designs more of approachability upgrade, but they take a small hit in creativity.
Trailer: C+ / C
Review: (#1) As much as the amusing elements of this trailer appeal to me as a child of the Video Game Generation, I can’t get over the fact that this is little more than your typical Adam Sandler movie simply with a bigger effects budget.
(#2) Adding more information to the trailer doesn’t make it seem that much more interesting. Matter of fact, the film looks even more cheesy now and appears to be little more than faux fan service, not an actual celebration of ’80s video games.
Oscar Prospects:
Apart from a rogue Best Visual Effects nomination, I wouldn’t expect too much out of this film.
