From IMDb: “A soldier introduces himself to the Peterson family, claiming to be a friend of their son who died in action. After the young man is welcomed into their home, a series of accidental deaths seem to be connected to his presence.”
Poster: C / D+ (2)
Review: (#1) Maybe if you know who Dan Stevens is, find him attractive or care that he’s looking dangerously at the camera with a gun in his hand, you might find this appealing. (#2 & #3) How these designs were thought of is uncertain, but neither are thematically viable, nor are they visually striking, other than being overbearing.
Trailer: C+
Review: So this is the kind of career Dan Stevens was trying to have when he quit his lucrative role on Downton Abbey? I’m thinking he wasn’t expecting it to turn out this utterly predictable. Nothing in this trailer suggests a film that’s even remotely original or necessary.
Oscar Prospects:
None.
