Review: (#1-#3) The idiotic furry dog vehicle is not as compelling as the designers think it is, though fans of the original might be modestly excited over it. The other two are at least more tease-worthy even though they are utterly bland.
(#4) Combining the two “character” posters into one might appeal to fans of the original, but who’s really going to remember something two decades past? (#5-#6) While they are rather simplistic, the tagline sets these designs apart from the trailer itself, making something genuinely clever. (#7) It has absolutely no meaning to anyone. It’s not even Canadian. Maybe it has something to do with the film, but that’s not obvious in the least. (#8) A white-background version of the first poster, which doesn’t improve on it at all.

Review: The original invented a genre of comedy that wasn’t needed, the blindly stupid comedy. It perfected and annoyed that style, but this trailer takes that type of idiotic humor to a new, even less interesting level. How anyone but the absolute most die-hard fans could find this amusing may explain why it was greenlit nearly 20 years later.
Oscar Prospects:
None.
Revisions:
