Synopsis:
From IMDb: “When motocross and heavy metal obsessed, thirteen-year-old, Jacob’s increasing delinquent behavior forces CPS to place his little brother, Wes, with his aunt, Jacob and his emotionally absent father, Hollis, must finally take responsibility for their actions and for each other in order to bring Wes home.”
Poster: B-
Review: It’s an interesting, reflected symbolism that gets at the heart of the film’s plot, but feels visually inorganic. It’s a design that doesn’t excite and doesn’t exactly flow.
Trailer: B+
Review: It isn’t precisely heart-tugging, but it hints at there being such moments within. This story looks fairly common, but enacted with a focus on realism that might make it a better fit. It’s definitely a superior effort for the likes of Aaron Paul who seems to do a fine job in smaller roles.
Oscar Prospects:
I doubt it will play well with Oscar, but if critics fall all over it, they could make it a contender with their year-end awards.
Revisions:
(May 18, 2014) Original
(June 8, 2014) New Poster (#1)
