While its per screen average wasn’t awful, the debut of Total Recall was a sizable disappointment. Also of note is that the third film in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid franchise also failed to live up to its predecessors’ expectations, posting an $8 million deficit compared to either of the prior two film debuts.
