Review: (#1, C-) There might be some logic to this particular image but most audiences aren’t going to pick up on that. They’ll just latch onto the overabundance of cream and black colors without seeming purpose.

Review: (#1, B-) There isn’t quite enough of the plot in this trailer and certainly none of the evocativeness of Angelina Jolie’s performance but the stunning visuals and scene beats is quite intriguing.

(#2, B) The first trailer didn’t do enough to prepare the viewer for the type of movie on display. This effort does and makes it look almost intriguing by comparison. It still feels a bit amorphous so it’s not likely to reach too many but for those already interested in Pablo Larraín’s work, this should prove sufficient.

Oscar Prospects:

Not only is Oscar winner Angelina Jolie said to give one of her best performances but Pablo Larraín has secured nominations for past leading ladies, which could be a benefit to Jolie’s race.
