Review: (#1, C-) This design conveys the concept of a posed family portrait with the lower right containing the more significant elements but most viewers won’t latch onto that as a creative choice and will just ignore it as being a bit dull. (#2, C-) It might convey the title but it doesn’t convey intrigue. (#3, C) This gives a bit more tension to the film’s concept but feels blocky and not unnerving as it should feel. (#4, C+) The image itself is fairly simple, what earns this design a bump in grade is the interesting use of titling. Both the font and its structure are fascinating from a design perspective even if what’s around it isn’t.

Trailer Rating: C / C+

Review: (#1, C & #2, C+) I would normally try to separate out my trailer opinions when they are different but the combination of trailers released for the film seem to pain the same picture. While the second is generally more successful, neither trailer manages to create a modicum of tension for a film that is ostensibly built on it. That creates a situation that isn’t particularly intriguing.

Oscar Prospects:

None.
