Three new releases don’t mean a wide open race for top of the box office heap as there is one film that will dominate the others. Deadpool & Wolverine will win the weekend easily.

OTHER RELEASES

We are only looking at films that have had trailers released on Rotten Tomatoes’ trailer YouTube Channels. Below are some other films that are releasing this weekend that we haven’t considered.

Dead Sea (Limited)
The Good Half (Limited)
Only the River Flows (Limited)
Rhinegold (Limited)

WIDE RELEASES

DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE

DรŒDI

THE FABULOUS FOUR

Deadpool & Wolverine

Wesley Lovell: This series has always been fun even if the quality is slowly decreasing.

Peter J. Patrick: Not expecting much, but it’s a nice pairing of the two superheroes.

Thomas La Tourrette: I want to like this film but the trailer lets one down. Hopefully there will be a lot more humor in the full movie.

Dรฌdi

Wesley Lovell: The trailer is not that interesting and since I wasn’t impressed with his Oscar-nominated short film, this is doubly uninteresting.

Peter J. Patrick: Looks great on paper but I was underwhelmed by the trailer.

Thomas La Tourrette: The Reviews are glowing but the trailer is sort of off-putting and does not make much of a case for the film.

The Fabulous Four

Wesley Lovell: If it weren’t for the cast, this film would look quite generic but perhaps the cast can bring out the best in it.

Peter J. Patrick: Could be just another silly old lady comedy but Jocelyn Moorhouse’s track record leads me to think that it will be better than that.

Thomas La Tourrette: I am dubious of this though it does boast a great cast.

LIMITED RELEASES

THE ARCTIC CONVOY

THE BEAST WITHIN

THE GIRL IN THE POOL

THE LAST BREATH

MOTHERS’ INSTINCT

STARVE ACRE

The Limited Slate

Wesley Lovell: Only two of these look at all interesting: The Arctic Convoy and Mothers’ Instinct have potential.

Peter J. Patrick: The Norwegian war film, The Artic Convoy, and the Don’t Look Now-style horror film, Starve Acre, are the only films here that seem like possibilities.

Thomas La Tourrette: It’s not a good week for films, with perhaps the WWII set The Arctic Convoy as the one to see.
