Review: (#1, C+) The paint-drip effect coming from the hair is decently well used but the design doesn’t tell the viewer much at all about the film, which could hinder its chances at drawing a large audience. (#2, C) This certainly tells the viewer more about the film’s premise but the art is so painstakingly done that it’s shocking that it ultimately looks a bit cheap.

Review: (#1, C) The makers of this trailer don’t seem to be clear what tone they want to set. At first, it seems like a generic romantic drama but then it tilts into psycho killer territory, leaning into its surrealist elements. That lack of consistency is going to hinder its chances with audiences.

(#2, C) Wanting to sell the film as an event picture with lots of acclaim, the trailer ultimate ends up making the film look less intriguing. Its action is tamer. Its violence is flatter. It is ultimately a less skillful attempt to get audiences to the theater.
