Review: (#1-#2, C) Each the inversion of the other, this design uses an awful shade of yellow-orange that causes both figures to look sallow. An ungainly use of color.

Review: (#1, C-) This Jewish comedy struggles to find the funny in the idea of an elderly woman wanting to have a Bat Mitzvah, a coming-of-age ceremony for young girls. Carol Kane is a great comedic actor but she doesn’t look like she’s having as much fun as she should be with this role. The mediocrity of the humor makes the entire effort feel pointless.
Oscar Prospects:
A late-career nomination for Carol Kane wouldn’t be shocking but probably not for this movie.
