Review: (#1, C+) While the rings spelling out the titles is at least somewhat inspired, as is the musical note ring to cap things off, it doesn’t really tell you enough about the film itself unless you’re already familiar with the Mean Girls title.
(#2-#10, C) These character posters are simplistic and color-starved. Yes, they are vibrant and stand out, but that’s not rescuing a rather dull set of character designs. (#11, C+) This effort struggles to get all of the characters match the fuchsia color scheme and that makes them feel a bit overproduced. (#12, C-) Of course, you could then go with something less intriguing, focusing on fewer characters and less purple-pink starkness. And it surprisingly looks worse. (#13, B-) With a more high school-ish vibe, this design sticks with the color scheme and balances its imagery together well, but the background emptiness is ill-fitting when it would look more interesting if it had a book or locker theme to the design. (#14, C) The neon style certainly fits the effort, but the characters are so indistinct that it makes the effort feel wasted. (#15-#23, C+) Another batch of character posters that’s at least a little more interesting than the prior set, but still lacking sufficient background detail.
Trailer Rating: B- / C+ / C

Review: (#1, B-) There’s a hint of the music of the stage show, which should be enough to appeal to its fans. There’s also plenty of catty behavior for fans of the original movie. However, to pull in those who aren’t familiar with either, the effort is a bit lackluster, though the brief bits of humor work better than expected.
(#2, C+) Another musical effort that unfortunately rehashes some of the elements of the prior trailer. It still looks interesting, but continuation down this path could create tedium in the audience.
(#3, C) The prior to trailers at least highlighted the singing and dancing. This highlights both, but never adequately links them and then dials down the plot details as well. That combination is ill-advised.
Oscar Prospects:
None.
