Review: While there is a lot of empty space, the foggy shroud helps embellish it with the dawn’s suffused lighting making it feel warm and fresh while the rowers take center stage.

Review: It begins to drag into the latter half, but the trailer does an effective job setting up the stakes for the characters in the film, which makes rooting for them a little easier for audiences who may be in the mood for inspirational sports dramas that aren’t about football.
Oscar Prospects:
George Clooney has struggled to make an Oscar-nominated work since his success with Good Night, and Good Luck. This looks like a feel-good film in the vein of his Leatherheads, which wasn’t an Oscar contender. His only directorial effort to score an above-the-line nomination was The Ides of March 12 years ago (2020’s Midnight Sky did get a Visual Effects nomination, but that doesn’t really align with this film’s potential). We can probably count this one out.
