Having proclaimed they have fixed their diversity problem, the Golden Globe awards have returned in full force this year with a slate of nominees that fits in with their past voting, so there’s not a lot of newness here. While Avatar: The Way of Water, Elvis, and Top Gun: Maverick nabbed big nominations, their overall totals weren’t great while The Banshees of Inisherin, Everything Everywhere All at Once, and The Fabelmans did quite well. Babylon benefited from the dearth of available comedy nominees. Otherwise, not that much to see here.
