Poster Rating: C+

Review: There’s nothing very interesting about this poster. They deftly avoid any semblance of controversy by visually eliminating any reference to a threesome or same-sex relations. The background, while not meant to be a type of fine art, fails to be very engaging even if it does set the film in a place and time.

Trailer Rating: B

Review: The concept is certainly intriguing. This could be a more critically acclaimed gay musical than the not-so-spectacular stage-to-screen adaptation of Rent. This film doesn’t really have the same focus and seems a bit more subdued in its musical underpinnings, much like 8 Women which also features this film’s Ludivine Sagnier. It certainly looks intriguing.

Oscar Prospects:

Much like 8 Women, French musicals…well, musicals at all…don’t earn nominations for Foreign Language film. The production values aren’t such that it would be elsewise recognized.
