Trailer Rating: B-

Review: Where the title comes from, I still don’t know. Maybe it’s a nickname for the halfback the film deals with, but you won’t understand entirely from the trailer. Matter of fact, it seems a bit similar to both The Great Debaters about the first highly successful all-black debate team and to every other inspiration football drama ever produced.

Oscar Prospects:

With such a high-pedigreed film like The Great Debaters getting ignored by the Academy and the Academy’s penchant against sports films, The Express pretty much appears to be dead in the awards race waters.
