All five of these nominees are on the Academy’s shortlist, so we don’t get any real peak into what could happen other than the inclusion of No Time to Die over The Matrix Resurrections and The Power of the Dog over Belfast. Considering the Jane Campion’s film is a relatively quiet one that doesn’t have as many audio cues as something like Belfast, it’s a positive sign that it’s included here. This is most damning for A Quiet Place Part II and tick, tick…BOOM!, which both needed a citation here to be considered viable.
